Origins
Rooted in Tradition
The Graybeards sound draws from folk-blues and rock traditions while leaving room for a personal voice that feels lived-in, direct, and unmistakably human.
Together they learned music and performance as a teenagers and young adults in New York City. Rob later transitioned to folk, old time and blues while living in the Appalachian Mtns. of Virginia performing at coffeehouses, universities and small concerts. Larry played and recorded with several contemporary rock and soul bands in New York City and Florida.
Their presentations reflect an appreciation for the diverse musical styles found in America today. They combine their musical talents with a storytelling element and celebrate the joy and grace of a shared experience
